We are incredibly lucky to have wonderful supporters who take on sporting challenges to raise money for our services supporting older people in our local community.
As marathon season approaches, we’d like to shine a light on the fantastic work they are doing and support them in their ambitious (sometimes downright mad) feats of sporting ability!
Chris has embarked on the challenge of running 3 marathons in just 7 weeks. He’s made a great start running the Manchester marathon on 7th April in an impressive time of 3:57:55 but he’s still got a way to go with the London marathon on Sunday 28th April and the Liverpool marathon on 26th May.
He’s set a fundraising target of £1500 and is nearly there. You can sponsor Chris on his fundraising page here.
Our fantastic supporter Alisha is taking on an Ultramarathon, running 106km around the Isle of Wight on Saturday 4th May.
She is so close to reaching her fundraising target of £500, if you are able to support her it would be so greatly appreciated. You can visit Alisha’s fundraising page here.
We have three participants taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon on 19th May.
Juanita is one of our trustees and a long-time volunteer for Link Age Southwark. She, and her good friend Sam, are both taking on the 13 mile challenge to raise funds for our services.
James is also running the Hackney Half to raise money for us. He works at Michael O’Mara Books, one our business patrons, and has kindly offered to take on the challenge to support our work.
We are so grateful to all of our supporters for taking on these challenges. If you would like to get involved in fundraising for us, please contact us by emailing email@example.com
