We had a lovely morning at our AGM on 2nd October 2017. We were so glad to be joined by our trustees, special guests and, of course, lots of our wonderful volunteers and older friends and neighbours.
Our director, Gemma Juma, presented out 2017 Impact Report, setting out our achievements over the last year. If you would like to receive a copy please call the office on 020 8299 2623.
One of the highlights of the morning was the interview with Iris, one of our older members, and Norma, a volunteer with us since 2004! Both spoke beautifully about the impact Link Age Southwark has had on their lives, creating long-lasting friendships and providing support to stay active and engaged in the local community.
We were delighted to welcome Professor Kevin Fenton as our guest speaker. He gave an impressive talk about living better for longer, sharing a few tips about how to stay healthy as we age, including taking part in at least 10 minutes of exercise a day, staying connected to your local community and having passion for whatever you do in life.
The morning finished with refreshments and a chance for everyone to have a chat. The Mayor of Southwark, Charlie Smith, kindly did the honors and cut our Link Age Southwark cake.
