Volunteering

Befriending

Are you a friendly person? A good listener? Our volunteer befrienders regularly visit an older person to offer one-to-one friendship and social contact. That could be a cup of tea, helping with shopping or reading a newspaper together. We also support people with mild to moderate dementia and provide training for those volunteer befrienders.

Gardening and odd jobs

If you’re the practical type, we’d love you to lend a hand. By helping an older person with some light gardening or a simple household task, you’ll help them maintain their independence and live in their own home for longer. Our volunteers also provide occasional help with technology to keep older people in contact with friends and family.
