About Us

Link Age Southwark works to create friendly, vibrant local communities where older people thrive.

We have been providing friendly volunteer support to older people across Southwark for more than 20 years. We combat isolation and loneliness and bring cheer to older people’s lives, improving their health and wellbeing. We do this by offering:

  • One-to-one befriending visits
  • Activity groups with volunteer transport
  • Practical support including light gardening and help with odd jobs
  • Inter-generational work with local schools

These services are free to anyone in Southwark aged 60+ and we also offer specialist free services for people of any age with mild to moderate dementia.

Link Age Southwark currently has over 300 fantastic volunteers supporting more than 500 older people. We are always looking for more volunteers to bring cheer and improve the lives of older people in our community. Our volunteers come from Bermondsey, Walworth, Peckham, Camberwell, Dulwich, Herne Hill, Nunhead and beyond!
